Content

Dean Denham draws on his considerable experience and passion for this amazing instrument and teaches students basic techniques in how to play the Ukulele.

It’s impossible to be sad when you are around a Ukulele, says Dean Denham, director of M.U.K the iconic, Melbourne Ukulele Kollective; formed 10 years ago to provide a vehicle for playing, performing and teaching. Dean was initially drawn to the ukulele when an elderly uncle offered him his battered instrument and was soon playing at local pub open--mic nights. Dean readily admits that the inexpensive and portable, 4-stringed instrument has certainly come a long way from its Hawaiian origin and it is now featured in all forms of music including folk, country, pop and indie-rock.

Outcomes

Learn basic techniques during the class and be inspired to continue on with practicing at home post-course.

Pre-Requisites

There is no prerequisite; simply a desire to learn some basic techniques.
